Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11
mission and its historic touch down on the moon, the U.S. Mint has released a series
of commemorative coins. Each U.S. coin is curved and features the same designs.
The obverse pays tribute to the programs that led to the moon landing (Mercury,
Gemini, and Apollo) with a depiction of the first footprint on the lunar rock.
The reverse is a recreation of a photograph of Buzz Aldrin’s helmet visor with
Neil Armstrong and the American flag in its reflection. In addition to the
commemorative coins issued by the U.S. Mint, we also expect to have coins
issued by the Royal Australian Mint and British Pobjoy Mint.
All of our Apollo 11 coins will be graded either First Strike or First Day of Issue by
PCGS. Our initial offering includes several label options. Two labels feature the AMF (Astronaut Memorial Foundation) logo: The AMF logo label and the Earth Rising label. PCGS is charging
an additional fee for these label and proceeds will benefit the
foundation. AMF labels can also be used for any space related coin included any
Kennedy Halves, Eisenhower Dollars, American Eagles, 2019 Native American
Dollars, and 2004 Florida State Quarters. Please contact us if you are interested in these other coins with the AMF label. We may have additional label options for the commemoratives at a later time.
Pre-Orders are limited to (1) of each coin per customer.
